Senior Vendor Manager - Airport IT - --West London

Required by our international client a Senior Vendor Manager to work in a small, dynamic and busy team.

The role:

Responsible for managing the overall end-to-end relationships of a portfolio of vendors, delivering total vendor value, optimising vendor assets and managing supplier performance. Collaborating with cross functional teams, the incumbent shall also ensure optimal pricing, margins and commercial benefits are achieved.



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


VENDOR DEVELOPMENT & MANAGEMENT

* Understand, support and participate in delivering the team’s strategic growth plans.
* Build, develop and strengthen long-term, sustainable relationships with a portfolio of vendor partners, third party sub-contractors and solution providers and ensure remains commercially competitive.
* Manage the portfolio of vendor partners to consistently exceptional levels of end-to-end Airport IT solutions to our Airport customers and throughout the life of the customer contract.
* Foster a collaborative engagement with the portfolio of vendors and stakeholders, leveraging their knowledge, market insight and experience to anticipate potential problems or gaps and to enable continuous business growth.
* To fulfil RFI/RFP requirements and to optimise sales & margin opportunities, the incumbent will need to demonstrable ability to draw upon technical, legal, commercial and tax knowledge to inform decisions around product and solution design. This includes an understanding of global customs and taxation obligations.
* Support and proactively contribute to the industrialisation of Vendor Management processes, initiatives and contractual agreements between vendors, Amadeus and our customers.


COMMERCIAL MANAGEMENT:

* Develop a sound understanding of our vendor portfolio, references and global reach.
* Contribute to vendor recruitment, their respective governance and the production of corporate engagement management reports.
* Contribute to the reporting required for corporate engagements, develop and maintain a repository of all vendor assessments (e.g. spend & commercial value).
* Establish, record and monitor vendor KPI’s and report the cost impact of products, software and services (e.g. following down-times, responsiveness)
* Contribute to sales, solution design & bid process through the effective selection of third party participants.
* Proactively manage a portfolio of vendor contracts, develop a sound understanding of all contractual obligations in respect to projects and support the respective Implementation and Service Delivery teams during project implementations.
* Prepare business case inputs for the solution design team, and maintain the cost integrity in delivery, and throughout the life time of the contract
* Monitor and manage the commercial impact relating to all change requests.



TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT:

* Continuously monitor ATI technology developments and initiatives, align vendors with a relevant development roadmap, educate and share knowledge with appropriate internal stakeholders.
* Responsible for the governance of product selection, ensuring the supply of all outsourced products comply with relevant technical regulations.
* Support the product team in the technical and commercial needs of new product developments which are outsourced
* Contribute to and support the growth of the industrialisation of the supply chain and its integration to business operations.

SKILLS

* Proven track-record of maximising product performance through vendor relationships.
* First rate strategic and commercial skills. Ability to apply mindset
* Demonstrable knowledge of legal & regulatory frameworks.
* Strong communication, influencing and negotiating ability.
* Experience of driving third party performance and delivery.
* Proven experience of operating in a fast-paced, demanding and evolving environments.
* Self-starter, capable of delivering a heavy workload and pursuing solutions with minimal supervision.
* Ability to deal with ambiguity.


SKILLS – SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE
Functional expertise in airport systems and processes is an advantage (e.g. CUPPS, CUSS, Payment Technology, PCI DSS, Biometrics)


SKILLS – LANGUAGES

Fluent spoken and written English

Additional languages will be a significant benefit
