Technology Innovation Manager - Surrey

£60 - £80 per annum + + Amazing company benefits + BONUS

Exciting opportunity to work for the biggest names in technology and be based at their world renown Research and Development site.

This role is for a Technology Innovation Manager.

The Innovation Manager is responsible for identifying and evaluating unique advanced technology for potential collaboration with my clients R&D teams.

You should have a strong network with in the Venture Capital (VC) start-ups and university communities to identify these sources of innovative technologies

These future technologies should be products such as: hardware or components, materials, or core algorithms (NOT software or services) and potentially something the consumer will be using in the next 3-5 years.

Key areas of focus for the Innovation Manager will include AI (artificial intelligence) and automotive (to the component level) and hardware and software.

Experience in these areas is preferred. Opportunity to be involved with other technologies will also exist as part of team work.

The Innovation Manager will also be responsible for working with internal client teams and external parties to structure and plan collaboration projects.

Daily Job Functions:

* Identify and evaluate sources (start-ups, universities, etc.) of promising advanced technologies in Europe
* Assist with the structuring and execution of collaborations between internal R&D teams and external parties
* Facilitate and support communication between teams located at HQ and local technology sources
* Act as project coordinator during execution of collaboration
* Communicate collaboration results to internal groups across multiple business units

Skills and attributes:

* BSc/MSc in computer science or engineering fields (PhD is preferred)
* R&D, Start Up or investment background (5+ years)
* A combination of business and technical background is advantageous
* Strong candidates will have experience with contract management and business development
* Deep understanding about both user benefit/experience and market/technology trends
* Extensive network with VC's, start-ups, and Universities
* Technology assessment skills
* Ability to effectively communicate with senior executives
* Self-starter and can operate independently
* Strong desire and ability to learn a broad spectrum of technology
* Team understanding
* Fluent English
* Secondary European language is advantageous
