Engineering Project Manager

I’m currently working with an established and growing engineering organisation in Edinburgh who are looking to add an experienced Project Manager to their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business delivering innovative products across a variety of sectors, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams including Embedded Software, Electronics and Mechanical Engineers. You’ll play a key role in taking complex engineering projects from initial concept through to manufacture, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to the highest standards.
Working alongside a team of experienced Project Managers, you’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects ranging from £30,000 through to £1 million, engaging with both customers and suppliers throughout the development lifecycle.
What you’ll be doing:
* Managing engineering product development projects from concept through to manufacture
* Leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams across Embedded Software, Electronics and Mechanical Engineering
* Managing project scope, schedules, budgets and risks
* Building and maintaining strong customer and supplier relationships
* Supporting commercial and technical decision-making throughout the project lifecycle
* Working across multiple industry sectors and varied product development programmes
* Collaborating with fellow Project Managers to ensure successful project delivery
What we’re looking for:
* Proven experience as a Project Manager or Programme Manager within an engineering environment
* Experience delivering new product development projects from concept through to manufacture
* Strong understanding of embedded systems and engineering product development processes
* Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams
* Knowledge of project delivery methodologies including Waterfall and Agile
* Excellent customer and supplier relationship management skills
* Strong commercial awareness and technical judgement
* Ability to manage multiple projects with values ranging from £30,000 to £1 million
Desirable:
* Previous hands-on engineering experience, whether in Electronics, Embedded Software, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
* Experience working within regulated or high-technology engineering sectors
