Electronic Hardware Design Engineer (Contract) – Inside IR35
Location: Central Belt, Scotland (Hybrid)
Contract: Inside IR35
We are seeking an Electronic Hardware Design Engineer to join our engineering client on a contract basis. This hybrid role, based in Scotland’s Central Belt, offers the opportunity to contribute to the design, development, and verification of electronic hardware for innovative products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop analogue and digital electronic circuits.
* Produce schematics and support PCB layout activities using Altium Designer (preferred).
* Perform prototype bring-up, debugging, and design verification.
* Develop and execute hardware test procedures.
* Use standard laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and power supplies, to validate designs.
* Create and maintain high-quality design documentation.
* Interface hardware with sensors and embedded systems.
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Strong understanding of analogue and digital circuit design principles.
* Experience with schematic capture and exposure to PCB layout, ideally using Altium Designer.
* Hands-on experience with prototype bring-up, debugging, and hardware verification.
* Proficient in using standard electronic test and measurement equipment.
* Experience developing and documenting hardware test procedures.
* Ability to produce clear and accurate engineering documentation.
* Experience interfacing with sensors and embedded hardware.
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

* Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience.
